Kathryn E. "Kate" (Kohn)Norris age 91 passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati. She was born on August 25, 1921 to Helen and Frank Kohn in Toledo, OH. She was a 1939 graduate of Clay High School in Oregon, OH. She married Robert Norris in 1941. Kate was a well-recognized figure in Toledo's Spitzer Arcade where she worked for Groff's Fine Clothing Store. She took a position with the Toledo Legal News and advanced to editor, a responsibility she enjoyed for several years. She later moved to Mariemont, a Cincinnati suburb, to reside near her daughter and son-in-law, and worked for AAA and then for Southwest Publishing Company before retiring. Kate volunteered, teaching remedial reading and as a guide at Cincinnati's first Tall Stacks riverboat celebration. She loved the Cincinnati Reds, the Ohio River, her Scottish Terrier "grandkids" and the companionship of friends and family. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Rose, sisters, Susan Witthoft and Arlene Schmaltz and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Kate was preceded in death by brothers, Ron, Howard and Frank Kohn and by sister, Wanda Sass. Family, friends and others whose lives Kate touched are invited to the Miller-Busse & Borgmann Funeral Home, 3464 Central Parkway at Clifton Hills Ave. (Clifton) on Monday, May 6, 2013 from 5:00 PM until time to celebrate her life at 7:00 PM.
