Obituary

Ruth Dupps Creasey, age 90 passed away April1, 2013. Beloved wife of the late Tex (William Robert) Creasey and devoted mother of four sons, Bill, Jim, Tom and John all of the Greater Cincinnati area. Loving grandmother of Kyle, Cary and Caitlin. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Irene (nee Markland) and John Jacob Dupps, Jr, and her brother Jack (John Avery) Dupps, Sr. She was born May 6, 1922 and resided in her family home in College Hill for 88 years before moving to the Alzheimer's facility at Hyde Park Health Center in 2010. Ruth attended Hughes High School and graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Early Childhood Development in 1944. She was a member of the Tri-Delta sorority and fondly remembered the day Frank Sinatra stopped by to serenade them. But her heart was taken when she met Tex Creasey, later to become known as "The Singing Mailman of Northside." When the Head Start Program began in the 1960s, Ruth was the first teacher hired and she devoted many years to teaching underserved 4 year olds at Heberle, Hayes, Sands and Taft elementary schools. Ruth loved gardening and excelled in the kitchen with meals that always had room for extra guests at the table. Services have been held. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association www.alz.org, or The Cincinnati Nature Center, 4949 Tealtown Road, Milford, OH 45150, or Hospice of Cincinnati. Arrangements by Miller-Busse & Borgmann Funeral Home.
