Obituary

Sister Clara Blankemeyer, RSM, age 81 years, sister of the Sisters of Mercy for 63 years. Sister Blankemeyer entered the Sisters of Mercy on September 8, 1949. She received her Bachelors Degree in Education from Edgecliff College and a Masters Degree in Education from Xavier University. Sister Blankemeyer's served as an Elementary and High School Teacher and served as a Housing Management Agent for Housing and Urban Development. Daughter of the late Bernard and Margaret Wolf Blankemeyer. Sister of Anna Hoffman, Rose Salyers and the late Anthony, Bernard, Edward, Paul and Robert Blankemeyer and Margaret Gwynn. Friends may call at McAuley Convent, 1768 Cedar Avenue, College Hill, Tuesday 3-6 PM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 6:30 PM. Funeral procession will depart McAuley Convent on Wednesday at 9:30 AM for burial in St. Joseph (New) Cemetery at 10 AM. Memorials may be directed to Sisters of Mercy, South Central Community, Mission Advancement Department, 101 Mercy Drive, Belmont, NC 28012.
